Pilates is adaptable, whatever your needs are. Whether you’re pregnant and exhausted, managing whiplash, struggling with arthritis, or simply want to exercise regularly, Pilates can help.
After we’ve done 5 sessions together, you can stay on with me for private classes or move into a semi-private or group class, depending on your needs, schedule, and budget.
I trained with STOTT Pilates, certifying to teach Reformer and Mat. I am the only STOTT Pilates trained instructor worldwide who has cerebral palsy. This led me to a particular interest in treating disability and trauma.
Pilates is a series of exercises, done on mats and equipment, that helps to manage pain and heal injuries, from migraines to ankle sprains and everything in between. After you’ve seen the physiotherapist to manage acute pain, the Pilates teacher helps you to treat the chronic discomfort. Pilates is not for weight loss, and should not be treated as a solution to lose weight. Pilates is for mobility, flexibility, strength, ease of movement, and exercise.
‘I put my clients first, value good relationships, and offer classes that are patient, creative, and calm.’ – Norah Myers.
My disability gives me a unique perspective as a Pilates instructor, and empathy for clients who might feel intimidated to try. Pilates can be adapted for any ability, fitness level, size, or medical condition.
I have a disability myself, and I have helped clients with Erb’s palsy, ADHD, Greaves’ disease, COPD, and diabetes. I personalize classes based on your needs and the particular presentation of your condition or disability.
